Chester, Alice and Molly : gates collection 2019

Front gates are parts of public environnement as well as they protect the individual privacy or property. I wanted to base the collection on differences between the inside and outside feelings.
I designed an aluminium section with an asymetric water drop shape. An important aspect is how the section catch shadows and light, and could create an interesting volume and visual rythm on both sides. The sections are arranged in such a way that the gate become completely opaque or allows you to have a look through the interstices, depending where you are (inside or outside). As a modular system, it offers a range of possibilities to play around and produce several models : Chester, Alice and Molly.
